The DCESS BoPedi brand is uniquely distinguished by the Sepedi/Bapedi pottery that may in most designs be incorporated by the “DCESS BoPedi” signature type face. The pottery of the logo “BoPedi” gives the brand its significant meaning, signifying its great history of the handwork women of the ethnic group engaged themselves into crafting their cultural tradition. The pottery signifies the core meaning of the Bapedi since it was used in those years for many things like cooking, serving food and carried water sourced from their rivers. DCESS BoPedi strives to tell a story of the BaPedi nation and patriotism through fashion, there are eight colours that have been specifically chosen succinctly tell this story while promoting our African heritage:

DCESS BOPEDI EIGHT COLOURS

This if for the natural colour of the Bapedi huts and crafts, mostly the pottery.

With the Northern Province (Limpopo) known for its mostly sunny days, the sun shines so bright in its shores, this colour symbolizes the hot and amazingly bright sun experienced by the people of this nation.

The mostly used colour for the main Sepedi/Bapedi dresses (hele) and symbolizes the universal nature of the culture since both men and women can show up in blue.

In Honoring and recognizing Sepedi/Bapedi men, whose traditional attire isn't mostly spoken about; but through the Bapedi dance called "di naka", they show up in caps and skirts. These attires are mostly in red. Dancing on our red soils carrying their Bapedi pride and demonstrating our energetic character.

This symbolizes the old Sepedi/Bapedi fabric that is mostly used by old women to wear underneath their dresses (hele) called motjeka, this colour fabric has become so universal that they wear it with whatever colour hele and with its artifacts showing the Sepedi craft and artwork.

Orange stands out so much, symbolizes the boldness of the Sepedi/Bapedi tradition and its uniqueness that is being colourful. It also represents Kgoerano’s ancestral land as the founder, Zebediela; international and domestically known for its production and supply of citrus.

Known as a feminine colour, it symbolizes that artwork, beading and crafts old women devoted themselves to in giving birth to the diversity and uniqueness of the culture. It is in honour of these women, symbolizing the unity and love of the Bapedi nation shared amongst themselves and beyond its cultural boarders

The one province housing Bapedi is Limpopo province, famous for its green lands and production of food (greens). This colour symbolizes the character of the lands of Bapedi, the trees and plants that bear the fruits and vegetables supplied to our nation; its crops that feed us. It symbolizes harmony and growth.
